Impact & Reach

Since 2014, the Nakkubetta Foundation has been dedicated to community development by working with villages, schools, and colleges across the Nilgiris. Here is a snapshot of the people and places we have reached through our programmes.


Where we work

• All taluks of the Nilgiris – Udhagai (Ooty), Coonoor, Kotagiri, Gudalur, Pandalur, and Kundha.

• Neighbouring hill and rural belts in Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and Erode districts.

• Baduga villages and other vulnerable mountain communities.


How people reach us

• 24×7 Nakkubetta TV channel through local cable networks and MSOs in the Nilgiris.

• OTT platforms in India and abroad (JioTV, Tata Binge, Sun NXT, Amazon Fire TV, Sling, Peacock, and others).

• Nakkubetta Radio – online radio, Android app, and web stream.

• Social media, YouTube, and our community WhatsApp networks.


Impact so far

• Continuous awareness programmes on water conservation in the Nilgiris, health and de-addiction initiatives, culture, and social values.

• Documenting Baduga culture and Nilgiri voices through TV, radio, and digital media.

• Connecting local youth, women, elders, schools, and colleges with experts, officials, and well-wishers.

• Building a trusted platform for NGOs, including our Ooty NGO, government departments, and community groups to engage with the Nilgiris.

• Water & Environment – Water Revolution, lake and stream revival, tree planting, and forest-friendly campaigns promoting water conservation in the Nilgiris.

• Health & De-addiction – awareness on alcohol and substance abuse, mental wellbeing, and healthy lifestyle, with a strong focus on de-addiction in the Nilgiris.

• Culture, Youth & Women – Baduga heritage, value education, youth leadership, and women empowerment programmes.

Since 2014, our Nilgiris NGO has been dedicated to community development, serving villages, schools, and colleges through various field programmes and media initiatives. We also focus on important issues such as de addiction in Nilgiris and water conservation in Nilgiris.

Village campaigns, awareness camps, and school and college sessions focusing on community development, water conservation in Nilgiris, health, culture, and social values are being conducted across the Nilgiris by a dedicated Ooty NGO. Additionally, initiatives for de-addiction in Nilgiris are also part of these efforts.
